Why REBUNG
Urban poverty rates are higher in developed states such as Selangor. It was found that 50% of the urban poor in Malaysia have chronic diseases, but only 10% seek treatment. The urban group B40 (uB40) suffers from significant health disparities. Breast cancer survival rates are lower in public hospitals (72%) than in private hospitals (87%) due to the more advanced stage of the cancer. Despite many government health schemes targeting the urban poor, complicated and confusing diagnostic pathways can prevent early detection.
